DRAFT 1:
The ultimate aim of design is to bring creativity into this 21st century. I pride myself in collecting good, high-end stuffs but yet, I failed to appreciate the good old things that will stay with me forever. Kinship. To me, design is so much more than bold colours and patterns. Be it digital art, traditional art, interactive etc. There is different kind of style in each of these mediums however the process of development is still the same. It may seems and sound easy, but when I actually get to experience it. It is totally the opposite! Inspiration can be found almost everywhere for me. Sleep. Walk. Dream. Eat. Talk. Play. Study. etc Me, as a novice designer strongly feels that creativity & imagination plays a very huge and important role in our tiny brains. Without creativity, we will not outstand the crowd with our quirky ideas. Without imagination, we do not know how to visualize our ideas more in depth; thus, people will only understand our art works literally. Efficiency? Seriousness? Put in sufficient amount of effort produces correct amount of work. No pain no gain? True. Sloppy and laziness will bring you nowhere. Creativity has never been so crucial and important. Being creative is just being human; being a designer is to bring the humanity in people to meet the evolution of both things. A designer must love and concern about people and the globe in which we all live in. It’s our priority in the world to proudly spread love and creativity through our creations.

Design. Is more than just bold colours and patterns Digital art, traditional art, interactive design etc. Different kind of styles yet process of development is the same Look easy on the surface yet complicating underneath the superficial layer

Creativity & imagination remains a huge portion in my tiny yet magnificent brain No pain no gain Without creativity + imagination = literal works increasing

My life, my world……………my choice

MY MANIFESTO

I wanted to portray an image of me lost in a direction,
having no idea where am i heading.

I was blind with alot of problems on my way
And due to my laziness, i had problems trying to catch up with my school work

I thought that design was easy, but it was NOT AT ALL
After entering NYP-SIDM, i realised how different it was compared to the typical art lessons that i’ve attended in secondary schools.

This is a huge challenge for me,
i just have to get used to my poly life now, and for the next 3 years

My manifesto,
is all about how i overcome all obstacle faced
made me realised what was my problems, including my beloved, late grandfather who had passed away recently.

I knew i just have to change in order to succeed,
I cannot continue living in such a dilemma world.

Design, really requires a lot of thinking and creativity
Once you’ve stop thinking, you lost everything, lost all the directions

In my final manifesto piece,
I’ve included the grey path as seen in the background because i was trying to portray a scene whereby, at the starting point, i was completely lost (as in the text),

Soon, i realised what was all that was obstructing myself.
So towards the end, i’ve found the ENDING POINT, which i really manage to overcome all the problems, and persevere till the end

The bubble quote was from my late grandfather who constantly remind me that i had to study well in order to succeed in life. I am really grateful to my grandfather who had been constantly supporting me (regardless of monetary issues or personal issues) for the past 18 years i had with him.

CRITICAL RESPONSE : Confessions Of A Shopaholic

Basically this movie evolves around this girl, by the name of Rebecca Bloomwood, a blissfully clothes-crazy heroine.

Based on Sophie Kinsella’s fluffier-than-air novels, Confessions of a Shopaholic may have been shot before the economic crisis, but as the cautionary tale of one girl’s protracted shopping meltdown, it’s actually quite timely. It takes only a few scenes for Rebecca to learn that she has maxed out her credit cards, and when she lands a job at Successful Saving magazine, her atonement begins. (The gig she actually wanted, at the girly fashion bible Alette, was already taken.) This is a role you would imagine might be filled, with cheesy-klutzy charm, by Kate Hudson/Sandra Bullock. But Rebecca Bloomwood has her own brain-working-a-mile- a-minute adorable magnetism, with eyes that widen like a naughty child’s and a smile so vivacious it could light up the next three rooms. Breathless and petite yet powerfully in-your-face, Rebecca Bloomwood combines dizzy femininity and no-nonsense verve in the manner of a classic screwball heroine.

What is creative commons?

Creative Commons is basically a charity kind of base, ok more on a non-profit making side kind of group or lets say organization that grant special legal access to copyrighted stuffs to like a sharable kind of works to the public.

In short, it just changes copyrighted stuffs to non-copyrighted stuffs
example : “All rights reserved” to “some rights reserved”

Pros :
If there was really a organization of Creative Commons, that really help by granting access to “copyrighted” stuffs. WOAH IT IS AWESOME 3 CHEERS TO IT! Cause we’re now free to access any website and mass downloads all the movies, songs, videos etc etc!! No more patronizing any cinemas, CD shops etc etc!

Cons :
If this thing was real and was really granted by the law. Then the risk of publishing our works online, wordwide is a very scary thing to do. We will never know when will people start ripping off our hard work ideas which we may took like what 10years to do it? This is totally absurd! This kind of organization is seriously nothing but useless! If everything were not copyrighted, woah everything is going to be in chaos, nobody would have any originality of their works. Everyone will be loses their creativity cause they know that they can easily get a brand new idea from the web itself.
